| Welcome to the NCSU Men’s Club Volleyball website! NC State Men’s Club Volleyball is a fast growing program promoting men’s volleyball in the Southeastern United States. Tryouts are held every year to maintain a competitive drive and we participate in tournaments along the east coast year round! During the 2011-2012 season, the Wolfpack finished second in the country next to UCLA in the NCVF D1-AA national tournament in Kansas City, MO and finished second in the EIVA South conference. NC State hopes to continue their success into the 2013 season. Want to try out or learn more? Please look through our upcoming events and contact information. Feel free to email Kyle Peck or Addison Musser, this year’s club co-presidents, or any members listed, if you have any questions!

NCSU Begins a New Year The men’s club volleyball team is beginning to prepare for a new year and fresh start. With the Fall semester starting, open gym and tryouts are just around the corner. NC State made huge strides in the Spring ‘12 season and is looking to continue their success. With losing three players from last year’s starting lineup, the Wolfpack will be looking to fill the positions of a libero, outside hitter, and middle blocker. Please see our schedule for dates, times, and locations.
Wolfpack Concludes with Huge Success The NC State men’s club volleyball team attended the NCVF National Tournament for the first time, located in Kansas City, MO. After having a sloppy practice on the night of their arrival, the tournament wasn’t looking so bright for the Wolfpack. Although what happened in those next few days, couldn’t of been any brighter: NC State took second place under UCLA in the final match of D1-AA, taking a set from the Bruins, which was their first set loss the entire tournament. After defeating teams like the University of Miami and Northwestern during pool play, the Pack’s momentum never stopped rolling. The crucial wins from pool play lead into the tournament where State took down tough teams like Messiah and the University of Florida. After going to Nationals for the first time, NC State couldn’t of asked for better results. Official results from the tournament can be viewed at ncvfvolleyball.org. Photos from the tournament can be found clubvolleyballphotos.com.
In other news, NC State Club Sports held their annual end of the year banquet that summarizes all of the club sports’ successes throughout the year. After highlighting NC State’s success at Nationals, the men’s club volleyball team was awarded the prestigious Club of the Year award over all 54 sport clubs at NCSU, which includes an extra stipend. Through the president’s (Will Pluer) leadership and hard work and the team’s dedication, men’s club volleyball had an extremely successful year. Looking ahead, the men’s club volleyball team will be losing three crucial players, all from the 2011-2012 starting lineup (MB-Will Pluer, OH-Adam Epstein, and L-Davis Litzenberger). This past year, NC State was able to take advantage of seasoned players which allowed for the team’s success. The dynamics of the team will change dramatically for next season but NC State is planning for another strong year, all the while looking for replacements for huge roles on the team. Recruitment and tryouts will begin early in the upcoming Fall 2012 semester. |
